The ITS team is passionate about online testing. But in and out of the office, our team shares another passion: supporting our community.
We encourage team members to let each other know about service opportunities, such as volunteer work, that the company or individuals can take part in.
During the 2019-2020 school year, six ITS team members volunteered with the Baltimore branch of Reading Partners, a national nonprofit. They tutored seven students over the course of 26 tutoring sessions.
Reading Partners works with under-resourced elementary schools in cities around the US to provide students with one-on-one reading assistance. Volunteers spend one hour each week tutoring students. These tutoring sessions not only help students reach their literacy development goals—they also enable students to build their confidence, improve their social-emotional learning skills, and find their love of reading.
Ellie, a program manager at ITS, has been a volunteer with Reading Partners since 2018. She says, “This program has been a game-changer in my life. The tutoring sessions are the highlight of my week. I’ve found such joy in helping and encouraging my students to grow. I’m beyond grateful that Internet Testing Systems has encouraged and supported this service work.”
The ITS team is looking forward to seeing more community members get involved in this program. Please visit the Reading Partners website to learn more and find a branch in your area!
